Did millions of years fly by with no discernible effect? A possible though controversial inference is that our geological clocks and stratigraphic concepts need working on." William R. Potentially more important to geological thinking are those unconformities that signal large chunks of geological history are missing, even though the strata on either side of the unconformity are perfectly parallel and show no evidence of erosion. William Corliss wrote regarding unconformities the following: Corliss lives in Glen Arm, Maryland, USA, where the Sourcebook Project is located. Corliss is also a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the Society for Scientific Exploration. Corliss has degrees in physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (B.S., 1950) and the University of Colorado (M.S., 1953). The science journal New Scientist wrote regarding Corliss's work the following: "All I can say to Corliss is carry on cataloging". Since 1976, over 2000 Science Frontiers digests have been published. ![]() Corlisss publishes Science Frontiers which is a bimonthly newsletter providing digests of reports that cite and describe scientific anomalies. Corliss is the author of many works which discuss many scientific anomalies (observations and facts that challenge prevailing scientific paradigms). ![]()
